First friendly match

The international friendly game against Ukraine at the «Dinamo» stadium in Minsk ended in a 1:1 draw while the frist goal for the Belarusian team was scored by forward Sergei Gotsmanov.

1994

First UEFA European Championship qualifying match

Belarus National Team played its first official game in Oslo. The away fixture of the EURO Qualification against Norway ended with a 0:1 defeat of Sergei Borovsky's side.

1996

First FIFA World Cup qualifying match

In the beginning of the FIFA World Cup 1998 Qualification «white wings» suffered a heavy defeat against Sweden – 1:5. The first match of the tournament was also an away fixture in Stokholm, while the only goal of  the Belarusian team was scored by Valentin Belkevich.

The highest attendance at a home match

During the qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2002, Belarus national team not only ended up just short of a place at a top tournament but also set home match attendance record. There were 40 000 spectators at Dinamo stadium in Minsk during the victory over Norway (2:1).

Qualyfying for the UEFA U21 European championship

The away victory against Poland in the second leg of the play-off allowed Belarus U21 team to qualify for the U21 European Championship finals for the first time in history. In summer 2004 in Germany the «white wings» team sheet included the likes of Aleksandr Hleb, Sergei Kornilenko, Timofei Kalachev and Yury Zhevnov.

Bronze medals at the U21 EURO

Yegor Filipenko's extra-time goal during the match against the Czech Republic ensured Belarus U21 team managed by Georgy Kondratiev with bronze medals of the UEFA U21 European Championship 2011 held in Denmark.

Aleksandr Kulchy reaches 100th сap

The home friendly match against Lithuania was the 100th game in the main football team of Belarus for midfielder Aleksadr Kulchy.

Belarus football team at the Olympics

The bronze medals of the UEFA U21 European Championship 2011 gave Georgy Kondratiev's team a place at the Olympic games 2012 in London. The first olynpic team was built around Stanislav Dragun, Denis Polyakov, Sergei Politevich, Mikhail Gordeichuk and Renan Bressan. Having won the first game against New Zealand, «White Wings» lost to Brazil with Neymar and Egypt led by Salah.  

2018

First UEFA Nations League match

Belarus National Team managed by Igor Kriushenko kicked-off in the new UEFA tournament with a match against San Marino at the renewed «Dinamo» stadium in Minsk. A thumping win (5:0) was a starting point of the eventual 1st place in the group and a spot in the play-offs for the UEFA European Championship 2020.
